Salvador & Rio celebrate Iemanja' party, it's an afro-Brazilian ritual that happens every 2nd of February. Thousands of Candomblé (afro-Brazilian religion) followers & tourists line up on the beach to put flowers, perfume and other presents in the water to celebrate Iemanja (the Goddess of the waters); Later the fishermen's boats beautifully decorated set off in a procession out into the sea to make their offerings.
